Skerries Mills, North County Dublin

A little bit closer to home, you will find the charming town of Skerries, home to the Skerries Mills. Skerries Mills is a unique collection of two windmills and a watermill with associated mill pond, mill races, wetlands and is an ideal place to visit on a day trip while staying at the Bracken Court Hotel in North County Dublin. Visitors begin their guided tour of the site in the four-storey watermill building; they can try their skills at grinding; observe the waterwheel at work and walk through the corn field to visit one of the windmills. The watermill also houses the Watermill Café, Award Winning Craft Shop and exhibition space which can be accessed independently.

Horse Racing, North County Dublin

Balbriggan is an ideal base if you want to experience the best of Horse Racing in North East Ireland. The race courses at Laytown, Bellewstown and Fairyhouse are all within easy reach of the Bracken Court Hotel. Walking Routes

North Dublin and indeed East Ireland is blessed with some fantastic scenery and wonderful walking routes.

Front Strand Beach is situated close to the Main Street in Balbriggan, North County Dublin. The beach has a beautiful coastal walkway known locally as “The Nuns Walk”,

Enjoy a walk around Wavin Lake home of the Gormanston Anglers - it covers approximately 26 acres. The lake is also a wildlife sanctuary and Bird Watch Ireland has a hide located on the south of the lake. An abundance of wildlife can be seen around the shores of the lake from Herons, water hens, dragon flies to name but a few ...

Slí na Sláinte (The path to health) provide a list of various walking routes throughout the county including the Skerries Slí which showcases the wonderful scenery in this special area of North County Dublin.

Located in the nearby town of Swords, North County Dublin is the Ward River Walk
